The Challenge
SeeRails Coffee Cafe is seeking to establish a presence in the up and coming city of Rocky Mount. By creating a comfortable, close-knit, respectful environment highly focused on customer satisfaction, SeeRails Coffee Cafe will fulfill their mission of becoming a cornerstone business in Rocky Mount and paving the way for future businesses to follow in their footsteps. The SeeRails Coffee Cafe brand will be distinct and compelling; it will reflect SeeRails Coffee Cafe’s mission and the community will understand the services and products SeeRails Coffee Cafe provides.
The Approach
The Logo Questionnaire – SeeRails Coffee Cafe will fill out a questionnaire to capture elements of the vision for SeeRails Coffee Cafe Style Guide, and provide information relating to SeeRails Coffee Cafe to assist in the development of the logo.
Contemplation – Based on your answers to the questionnaire, I will contemplate what sets them apart, their future, and the brand they aspire towards.
Sketching – Sketching ideas helps me to generate a large number of possible directions. It allows me to quickly create visual images that will ultimately lead to the logo design.
Rendering logo designs – I now take my ideas and transfer them to the computer using Adobe Illustrator. I choose three of these designs and develop 3 logo comps.
Presentation Meeting – All of the comps will be presented in gray scale, helping the client to concentrate on the shape and form of their logo, and not become distracted by color.
Finishing touches/revisions – Following the review, I add color to the logo and complete the design.
The Result
The logo allows the immediate recognition of SeeRails Coffee Cafe and express the Cafe’s character. It provides a stable image for SeeRails Coffee Cafe and conveys a feeling of familiarity and credibility. All of the elements that represent SeeRails were combined into one icon.
By creating a stable, polished, focused look for all the marketing materials, consumer confidence will take hold, and an understanding of SeeRails Coffee Cafe and the services it provides will be strongly built.
