Project Description

The Challenge

National Center for Social Impact is seeking to establish a presence in the national workforce development community. The logo and brand must convey that they are a United States based company, yet stand out from it’s competitors. The National Center for Social Impact brand will be distinct and compelling; it will reflect NCSI’s mission and will provide a stable visual base for this organization.

The Approach

The Logo Questionnaire – NCSI will fill out a questionnaire to capture elements of the vision for NCSI’s Logo and Style Guide. This provides specific information relating to their mission and target audience to assist in the development of the logo.

Contemplation – Based on the questionnaire, I will contemplate what sets them apart, their future, and the brand they aspire towards.

Sketching – Sketching ideas helps me to generate a large number of possible directions. It allows me to quickly create visual images that will ultimately lead to the logo design.

Rendering logo designs – I now take my ideas and transfer them to the computer using Adobe Illustrator.  I choose three of these designs and develop 3 logo comps.

Presentation Meeting – All of the comps will be presented in gray scale, helping the client to concentrate on the shape and form of your logo, and not become distracted by color.

Finishing touches/revisions – Following the review, I add color to the logo and complete the design.

The Result

The logo allows the immediate recognition of NSCI and express a strong brand. It provides a stable image and conveys a feeling of familiarity and credibility.

By creating a stable, polished, focused look for all the marketing materials, consumer confidence will take hold, and an understanding of NCSI and the services it provides will be strongly built.
